In this itinerary you will enjoy the highlights of Myanmar on this incredible cultural journey, discover ancient temples and pagodas, observe wandering monks and be captivated by the most charming and hospitable Burmese people It begins in the charming former British colonial city of Yangon (Rangoon) which is the main commercial city of Myanmar. Then you will fly to Bagan (UNESCO World Heritage site), considered by many to be the finest collection of temples in Asia and savouring the sunrise from the upper terrace of the temple.

The adventure continues to Mandalay, the last royal capital, the culture centre and ancient capital of Amapura.
 
   
Day 1 Yangon Full Day City Tour
   
Upon arrival at Yangon international Airport you will be welcomed by our local guide and transferred to your hotel to check in or drop off your luggage.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Maha Bandula Park, Independence monument and the surrounding colonial buildings of Victorian & Edwardian era architecture. Spend some time at Sule Pagoda. Next, visit Botataung Pagoda, named after the 1000 military leaders who escorted relics of the Buddha from India over 2000 years ago. Finally visit Shwedagon Pagoda, the finest of Yangon and perhaps the most stunning religious edifice in the world. As the sun sets, the reddish golden rays of Shwedagon Pagoda reflect on everything around and turning into a magical arena.

Day 2 Yangon – Bagan
   
After breakfast at hotel, you will transfer to airport for the flight to Bagan. Upon arrival you will check in and begin the tours at the colourful Nyaung U Market. Then visit Shwezigon Pagoda and its magnificent golden stupa. Explore Htilominlo Temple noted for its fine plaster carvings and glazed sand stone decoration.
In the afternoon, you will visit Myinkaba Village and observe the process of making the traditional lacquer ware handicrafts.

Afterwards you will visit the 11th century Manuha Temple and Nanphaya Temple said to have been the residence of King Manuha and enjoy the magnificent of Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece of the early-style temple with four impressive standing Buddha images, Oak-Kyaung monastery decorated with multi color mural paintings. Finally enjoy the sunset over the site from the upper terrace of one of the Pagodas.

Day 3 Mandalay
   
After breakfast at hotel, you will transfer to Nyaung U airport for a flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival you will begin the excursion to the ancient capital of Amapura, a royal capital founded before Mandalay. You will visit Mahagandayon monastery where monks and novices line up to receive their daily offering of alms and food from faithful Buddhists. Then proceed to U Bein Wooden Bridge on the Taungtaman Lake, built over 150 years ago and take a leisurely walk over the bridge and enjoy the surrounding panoramic view. Before going to Mandalay you will visit a traditional silk & cotton weaving factory.

Upon arrival in Mandalay check in hotel.

The afternoon excursion begins at Mahamuni Paya temple, the most revered Buddha statue in Myanmar. Stop briefly to observe the laborious process of gold-leaf beating, the craft workshop specializing in bronze-casting, marble-carving, wood-carving, and puppetry. Continue to the Golden Palace Monastery, a delicately carved wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda (the world's largest book), consisting of 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures. Finally, visit Mandalay Hill at sunset for the surrounding scenic view.

Day 4 Mandalay – Yangon (Flight)
   
After breakfast at hotel, you will transfer to Mandalay Airport for a domestic flight to Yangon (08:55-10:55). Upon arrival in Yangon, transfer to hotel for check in. On the way you will stop at Kaba Aye (World Peace) Pagoda and the adjoining Maha Pasana Guha Cave, where the Sixth Buddhist Council took place.

This afternoon, the guide and car will be at your disposal for further sightseeing or shopping. As a free and easy tour for today, you may visit Strand jetty to witness the daily life of the local people on Yangon's River. Visit Chinatown located in the downtown area, and visit Kheng Hock Keong, the largest Chinese Temple in Yangon, which is over 100 years old.

Day 5 Departure
