In this itinerary you will experience a wonderful journey that will take you right into the heart of a friendly land, where exceptional hospitality is guaranteed. It begins in the charming former British colonial city of Yangon (Rangoon) which is the main commercial city of Myanmar. Then you will visit the magnificent Golden Rock, one of Myanmar's most sacred pilgrimage sites, the natural wonder of Inle Lake, and the village of Indein for the ruins of ancient pagodas.

The adventure continues to Mandalay, the last royal capital, the culture centre and ancient capital of Amarapura. Witness the collection of monk’s alms at Amarapura and the 600 painted pagodas and monasteries at Sagaing. Enjoy a horse-cart ride in Inwa and the world largest bell in the ancient city of Mingun. The tour concludes at the Bagan (UNESCO World Heritage site), the richest archaeological sights in Asia. Continuing to Mount Popa and enjoy amazing views of the plains of Bagan and distant hills.
Day 1 Yangon Day Tour
Upon arrival at Yangon international Airport you will be welcomed by our local guide and transferred to your hotel to check in or drop off your luggage.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Maha Bandula Park, Independence monument and the surrounding colonial buildings of Victorian & Edwardian era architecture. Spend some time at Sule Pagoda. Next, visit Botataung Pagoda, named after the 1000 military leaders who escorted relics of the Buddha from India over 2000 years ago. Finally visit Shwedagon Pagoda, the finest of Yangon and perhaps the most stunning religious edifice in the world. As the sun sets, the reddish golden rays of Shwedagon Pagoda reflect on everything around and turning into a magical arena.

Day 2 Yangon – Kyaiktiyo (by Car And Truck)
After breakfast at your hotel, you will start the four hour drive to the Golden Rock at Kyaikhtiyo. On the way, you will visit Taukkyan War Cemetery (in memory of the Commonwealth Allied soldiers killed during the Second World War). Visit the local colourful morning market at Kyaik Pun, and then visit the four seated images of Shwethalyaung Buddha, built in 994 AD. After the temples visit you will continue to Kyaikhtiyo and then by open light truck about an hour drive up the mountain to the Golden Rock, the third most important pilgrimage site in Myanmar. Enjoy the surrounding and sunset beauty on hill top.

Day 3 Kyaiktiyo – Bago – Yangon (by Truck And Car)
After breakfast at hotel, you will return by truck to base of the mountain. And start the four hours road journey back to Yangon. On the way to Yangon, you will by-pass Bago, on the main road between North and South of Myanmar.

Day 4 Heho – Inle Lake (by Flight, Car And Boat)
After breakfast at hotel you will be transferred to Yangon Airport for a domestic flight to HEHO. Upon arrival you will travel by car to Nyaung Shwe the gateway to Inle Lake, a freshwater lake in the heart of Shan Highlands. On the way you will stop briefly at the Shwe Yan Pyay monastery built entirely of teak. Then continue the drive to the Red Mountain Estate for lunch and wine tasting. After lunch, you will canoe on a boat towards the beautiful lake side village of Kyay Sar Kone. Transfer by long tail private boat to your hotel.

Day 5 Inle – Intein – Sae Ma Village – Inle (by Boat)
After breakfast at hotel you will visit one of the 5 Days Rotation Market, the market rotates its location on a 5 day basis and attracts vendors from around the lake and its surroundings. Afterwards, you will cruise to Indein village, through a long channel where you can watch the farming of local produce in the lake and finally to the hidden Indein temple complex. Located on the shore of the lake, this site consists of hundreds of small stupas. You will continue on foot through rice fields to the village of Sae Ma. In the afternoon you will meet the villagers on the lake and travel to one of the monasteries to observe the monastic activities. Return by boat to hotel.

Day 6 Inle – Heho – Mandalay (by Boat Car And Boat)
After breakfast at hotel you will enjoy an excursion by boat on Inle Lake; admire the famous leg-rowers, floating gardens, local fishing, village life and magnificent scenery. Visit the weaving village Inn Paw Khon, the Jumping Cats Monastery. Finally visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest religious site in Southern Shan State. Return to hotel for check out and then transfer to Airport to take a short flight to Mandalay Upon arrival at Mandalay airport you will transfer to hotel for check in.

Day 7 Mandalay – Inwa – Amarapura (by Car, Ferry, And Horse-cart)
After breakfast at hotel, you begin the morning excursion to the ancient capital of Amapura, a royal capital founded before Mandalay. You will visit Mahagandayon monastery where monks and novices line up to receive their daily offering of alms and food from faithful Buddhists. Then proceed to U Bein Wooden Bridge on the Taungtaman Lake, built over 150 years ago. Take a leisurely walk over the bridge and enjoy the surrounding panoramic view. Visit by horse cart the ancient imperial kingdom of Inwa or Ava. Continue to visit Bagaya Monastery, Nanmyint Watch Tower and Maha Aung Mye Bon Zan brick monastery.

The afternoon excursion begins at Mahamuni Buddha temple, the most revered Buddha statue in Myanmar. Stop briefly to observe the laborious process of gold-leaf beating, the craft workshop specializing in bronze-casting, marble-carving, wood-carving, and puppetry. Continue to the Golden Palace Monastery, a delicately carved wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda (the world's largest book), consisting of 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures. Finally, visit Mandalay Hill at sunset for the surrounding scenic view.

Day 8 Mandalay – Sagaing – Monywa – Phowintaung Cave
After breakfast at hotel you will journey to Sagaing, the spiritual centre of Myanmar. Hundreds of stupas, monasteries, temples and nunneries are to be found in Sagaing Hill, sometimes known as a living Bagan. Thousands of monks and nuns retreat here for meditation and contemplation. You will visit some of the most famous temples, such as Tupayon Paya and Hsinmyashin Paya (the Pagoda of Many Elephants).

After the temple visits, you will drive to Monywa through varied agricultural landscape and villages. Arrive in Monywa and check in hotel. After brief refreshment at hotel, you will transfer to the jetty and cross the Chindwin River by local boat to visit a sandstone cave system in the Phowin Hills.

Day 9 Monywa – Pokakku – Bagan (by Car And Boat)
After breakfast at hotel, you will visit Thanboddhay Pagoda, a magnificent repository of more than half a million Buddhist images. The original pagoda was built in the year 1303 but its present form dates only from 1939.

You will drive to the north of Bagan, the tobacco trading centre of Pokakku and visit local market and experience the local lifestyles. Visit the remains of Pakhangyi, 19th century town with old city walls. Transfer to jetty to take local ferry and arrive in Bagan before sunset.

Day 10 Bagan (by Car)
After breakfast at hotel, you will begin the tours at the colourful Nyaung U Market. Then visit Shwezigon Pagoda and its magnificent golden stupa. Explore Htilominlo Temple noted for its fine plaster carvings and glazed sand stone decoration and Gubyaukgyi Temple, with superb mural paintings.

In the afternoon, you will visit Myinkaba Village and observe the process of making the traditional lacquer ware handicrafts. Enjoy the magnificent of Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece of the early-style temple with four impressive standing Buddha images, Thabinnyu Temple, the highest temple in Bagan, Dhammayangyi Temple noted for its remarkable brickwork. Finally enjoy the sunset over the site from the upper terrace of Shwesandaw Pagoda.

Day 11 Bagan – Salay – Mt Popa – Bagan
After breakfast at hotel, you will drive to Salay, a colourful old religious centre in Central Myanmar. Visit Yoke Sone monastery with its exceptional wood carving on the outside of the building.

Then continue the drive to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano with its shrines dedicated to animist spirits. You may climb up the 777 steps to the shrine at the top.

Drive back to Bagan in the afternoon. On the way you will stop-over at village cottage industry to learn the regional product as well as to watch the collection of juice from the palm trees and its conversion to brown sugar. (jaggery)

Day 12 Bagan – Yangon Departure (by Flight)
After early morning breakfast at hotel, you will transfer to the airport for a flight to Yangon.

Upon arrival you will transfer to hotel to refresh up

Finally, you will visit Bogyoke (Scott’s) Market where you can find local products such as gems and jewellery and souvenirs.

You will transfer to the Yangon International Airport for the departure flight to conclude this unique experience.
