In this itinerary you will experience a wonderful journey that will take you right into the heart of a friendly land, where exceptional hospitality is guaranteed. It begins in the charming former British colonial city of Yangon (Rangoon) which is the main commercial city of Myanmar. Then you will visit the magnificent Golden Rock in Kyaikhtiyo, one of Myanmar's most sacred pilgrimage sites, Bago – the ancient Mon Capital, Mawlamyine - an important trading town in the south.

Travel to Thanbyuzayat –the starting point of the "Death Railway" connecting Myanmar and Thailand with the Bridge on the River Kwai, Mottam (Martaban) the charming tropical landscape and Pagodas and Kyaikkami, a popular coastal resort during British times with its well-known Pagodas built literally in the sea.
Day 1 Yangon Day Tour
Upon arrival at Yangon international Airport you will be welcomed by our local guide and transferred to your hotel to check in or drop off your luggage.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Maha Bandula Park, Independence monument and the surrounding colonial buildings of Victorian & Edwardian era architecture. Spend some time at Sule Pagoda. Next, visit Botataung Pagoda, named after the 1000 military leaders who escorted relics of the Buddha from India over 2000 years ago. Finally visit Shwedagon Pagoda, the finest of Yangon and perhaps the most stunning religious edifice in the world. As the sun sets, the reddish golden rays of Shwedagon Pagoda reflect on everything around and turning into a magical arena.

Day 2 Yangon – Kyaiktiyo (by Car And Truck)
After breakfast at your hotel, you will start the four hour drive to the Golden Rock at Kyaikhtiyo. On the way, you will visit Taukkyan War Cemetery (in memory of the Commonwealth Allied soldiers killed during the Second World War). Visit the local colourful morning market at Kyaik Pun, and then visit the four seated images of Shwethalyaung Buddha, built in 994 AD. After the temples visit you will continue to Kyaikhtiyo and then by open light truck about an hour drive up the mountain to the Golden Rock, the third most important pilgrimage site in Myanmar. Enjoy the surrounding and sunset beauty on hill top.

Day 3 Kyaikhtiyo – Hpa An (by Car And Truck)
After breakfast at hotel, you will return by truck to base of the mountain. Then proceed by car to Hpa-An, capital of Kayin (Karen) State. On the way you visit the famous Bayint Nyi Naung Gu, the natural limestone cave containing hot springs with healing powers. The springs are divided into three pools, one for monks, one for men and one for women. Then visit Kawgun Cave with different kinds of clay Buddha images that date back to the 7th Century.

Upon arrival at Hpa An, you will check in hotel.

In the late afternoon, take a stroll around Hpa-An town, and enjoy sunset at Shwe Yan Myew Pagoda situated at the bank of Than Lwin River which rises in Tibet.

Day 4 Hpa An – Mawlamyine (by Car)
After breakfast at hotel, you will explore the colourful central market. On the way to Mawlamyine, you will stop at Kyaunkamlab Stupa, also called water lake monastery, and then visit Lumbini Garden at the base of Mount Zwekabin. Then continue the drive to Kaw Nhat and Kado villages to visits some old monasteries.

Upon arrival in Mawlamyine you will check in hotel.

In the afternoon, we take you an excursion by private boat to Gaung Se Kyun (Shampoo Island) in the middle of the Than Lwin River. The name originated from an annual royal hair washing ceremony.

Then continue sightseeing at Mahamuni Paya, a colonial style temple and Kyaikthalan Paya, the tallest Pagoda dating back to the year 825 and Seindon Mibaya Monastery, the highlight of Mawlamyaine.

Visit the reclining Buddha at U Zina Paya and enjoy the sunset from View Point Hill.

Day 5 Mawlamyine – Thanbyuzayat – Kyaikkhami –mawlamyine
After breakfast at hotel you will enjoy a leisurely walk through the colourful market. And then proceed to Win Sein Tawya Pagoda, admire the longest (unfinished) reclining Buddha in the world. Inside the reclining Buddha, you will find a meditation centre, a monastery and rooms to accommodate the monks.

Then continue the drive to Thanbyuzayat. On the way you will stop at Mudon, and visit a weaving workshop where you can observe the weaving for cotton blankets and sarongs. Thanbyuzayat, the end-station of the notorious "Death Railway" from Thailand to what was then called Moulmein, nowadays known as Mawlamyaine.

At Thanbyuzayat, you will explore the Allied War Cemetery, consisted mainly British, American, Dutch and Australian soldiers who died building the railway.

After lunch at the local restaurant the journey continue to the resort town of Kyaikkhami, to visit Yele Paya, a metal-roofed Buddhist shrine complex perched over the sea and some lovely views.

Later you will drive back to Mawlamyaine and on the way stop at Set Se wide beaches, and enjoy a leisurely walk along the beach and if time permitting a lovely sunset as well.

Day 6 Mawlamyine – Yangon (by Car)
After breakfast at hotel you will depart from Mawlamyine to Yangon (approximately 300 Km). The journey is approximately 7 hours by car.

Along the way back to Yangon you will enjoy the local scenery of Myanmar.

After breakfast at hotel, you will transfer to the Yangon International Airport for the departure flight to conclude this unique experience.
